KENYA & ETHIOPIA 2026

 

CONFERENCE WEEK

Our second 2026 Conference will be held in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya in early September, exact dates to be advised. Our stay coincides with the annual Great Migration of over one million wildebeest across the Mara River. Our Kenyan luxury tented camp within the park has with en-suite facilities, air-conditioning & often animals can be seen in the camp! Between conference sessions, a Maasai Mara clinic visit & a hospital visit in Nairobi, there'll be safaris through the park to see wildlife up close & a visit to a Maasai Mara tribe. In Nairobi, you'll visit the Karen Blixen Museum (the author of "Out of Africa") & visit the Giraffe Centre where you can hand feed giraffes.

 

                           

                                      

 

PRE CONFERENCE TOUR (late August) - NGORONGORO CRATER & AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania, is a protected area a UNESCO World Heritage Site & is home to the volcanic Ngorongoro Crater & “big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests & zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration & it's also home to buffalo, gazelles, elephants, hyenas & flamingos. We'll spend a couple of days venturing into the crater for wildlife viewing then we'll cross the border into Kenya to Amboseli National Park, for two days of safari's with views of Mt Kilimanjaro as our backdrop.

                        

 

POST CONFERENCE TOUR - ETHIOPIA

Ethiopia is situated in the Horn of Africa above Kenya & split by the Great Rift Valley. With archaeological finds dating back more than 3 million years, it's a place of ancient culture. Its most important & most famous site are the UNESCO World Heritage rock churches in Lalibela, dating from the 12th-13th centuries. You'll also see Simien Mountains National Park; Gondar known for the walled Fasil Ghebbi fortress & once the seat of Ethiopian emperors & Bahir Dar to visit some of the world's oldest churches & monasteries on Lake Tana - the source of the Blue Nile & the largest lake in Ethiopia. There's also the chance to visit the fascinating tribes in the Omo Valley.
