POST TOUR - Zanzibar
ZANZIBAR ITINERARY
05 - 09 SEPTEMBER 2026
B = Breakfast L = Lunch D = Dinner
The island of Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean 24kms off the coast of Tanzania & is the perfect location for a relaxing 4 nights after our safari's, with the island surrounded by shining white sand beaches, palm trees swaying lazily in the sea breeze & sites to see.
SAT 05 Transfer from our Nairobi hotel to the airport & fly to Zanzibar, Tanzania. After collecting luggage, we'll transfer to our 5 star resort on the Northern East coast. Check-in to your room & relax or wander around the resort before dinner. Our resort is surrounded by a natural coral reef & is built on a 16-hectare estate beside a 300 metre-long white sandy beach BD
SUN 06 The morning's experience is exploring the pristine waters of Menai Bay, one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful marine conservation areas at 470 sq kms. After breakfast, you'll be transferred to our departure point where we’ll board a traditional wooden dhow, ready to set sail into turquoise waters. The adventure includes snorkelling over coral reefs, alive with tropical fish & vibrant marine life, exploring uninhabited sandbanks & lagoons with a chance to spot dolphins in their natural habitat. We'll stop at the stunning Kwale Island, where a seafood BBQ feast is served under the shade of giant baobab trees – grilled lobster, calamari, fish, rice, tropical fruit & local treats. After a relaxing morning, we head back to our resort where you have the rest of the afternoon free. Walk along the beach, explore the resort, go for a swim or sip a few cocktails! BLD
MON 07
This morning, we travel to the wharf at Stone Town to hop on a short boat ride to Prison Island (also known as Changuu Island) where you’ll meet giant Aldabra tortoises - some over 150 years old - and learn about the island’s past as a detention center. We return to the island's historic capital Stone Town (a World Heritage Site) full of culture & history with interesting streets & narrow, winding alleyways lined with carved wooden doors, bustling markets, ancient mosques & colonial buildings that tell stories of Zanzibar’s Swahili, Arab, Indian & European influences. We'll visit notable sites such as the Old Slave Market, Anglican Cathedral, Beit el Ajaib (House of Wonders), the Old Fort & the Sultan’s Palace Museum. You'll have free time for lunch on your own to stroll through Stone Town’s markets & boutiques to shop for handcrafted souvenirs, Tanzanite & vibrant textiles or for Freddie Mercury fans, visit his childhood home, before returning to our resort for some afternoon leisure time before dinner BD
