CRUISE ITINERARY

Enjoy sailing down the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan visiting historic sites along the way. You’ll discover the Egyptian wonders around the Nile, the lifeline of the ancient Egyptian civilisation. Luxor was once the capital of Egypt’s New Kingdom & is often referred to as the world’s greatest open air museum.

SUN  22    Arrive into Cairo this morning & after Immigration & collecting your luggage, you'll be transferred to a local hotel. The evening is at leisure.

MON 23    You'll be transferred back to Cairo airport to fly to Luxor for your 5 star Nile River cruise in time for lunch. After lunch, you'll visit the Karnak & Luxor Temples. Karnak is the most important Pharonic site after the Giza Pyramids. After dinner, you'll be entertained by belly dancers (B/L/D)

  

TUE  24    After an early breakfast, you'll visit the West Bank of the Nile to see some of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings & Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut & the Colossi Memnon. There's also the chance to see the area first from above on an optional sunrise balloon ride over the valley & temples before visiting the tombs. Back onboard you'll enjoy a leisurely afternoon watching life on the river including lunch & afternon tea while sailing to Esna. The Captain's welcome cocktail function precedes dinner (B/L/D)

 
  
 
WED 25    After breakfast, you'll take a horse carriage to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. The temple was buried under sand & silt for nearly 2,000 years! Back onboard for lunch & afternoon tea while sailing to Kom Ombo to visit the temple, shared by two gods Sobek & Horus. The museum nearby houses 40 crocodile mummies from the nearby necropolis. Tonight is the Galabia party after dinner (B/L/D)
 
  
 
THU 26     Wake up in Aswan this morning & sightseeing today is visiting the High Dam (built in 1960-71), one of the world's largest embankment dams. You'll also travel by motor boat to Philae Temple, an island-based temple complex in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam. The oldest building - Kiosk of Nectanebo - dates from the 4th century BC & the temple is dedicated to Isis, the goddess of healing, birth & magic. There'll also be a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest known ancient obelisk more than 3,500 years old. Return to the boat for lunch & afternoon tea. After dinner, enjoy a Nubian show (B/L/D)
  
  
 
FRI  27     Early breakfast this morning before disembarkation. Free morning to wander Aswan - visit the Nubian Museum, shop in the Souq or visit the Old Cataract Hotel OR alternatively, take an optional tour to the Abu Simbel Temples on the shore of Lake Nasser. They are one of the most recognizable ancient sites in Egypt & contains two temples carved into a mountainside that were built by Pharaoh Ramses II from 1303-1213 BCE. Travel to the airport for your flight to Cairo & onto our conference hotel (B)
